I burned my medium-sized saucepan years ago. It could not be salvaged. I cooked for years with no saucepan because I couldn't decide what type to purchase.
This is a great addition to my kitchen. It is *smaller* than I imagined, but I suppose I could have actually measured out what 2 quarts were going to look like before I ordered it and I would have known to order the next size up. Didn't think about it, though. (I recently heated up 3 cans of Stagg chili, and it couldn't have taken a fourth, so if you are a person that needs a story in order to picture something, there you go.)
Things can stick to this pan, so read up on using All-Clad pans ahead of time to get the best results. I think the story is that you need liquid in this pan. If things start to stick, add liquid. But Google that yourself, just in case I am remembering it wrong.
For those who thrive on design? This pan is sleek and simple. The handle is long enough that it doesn't get too hot. 5 stars.

You can blend, heat, reheat and reduce using the MC2 2-qt. Sauce Pan by All-Clad. Originally designed for professional chefs, All-Clad pans have 3 layers, bonded together to ensure even heating. The pure aluminum core is fused between a brushed aluminum-alloy exterior and a hand-polished 18/10 stainless steel cooking surface, which won't react with food. Long, stay-cool handle, non-corrosive rivets and expertly fitted lid all are stainless steel. Lifetime warranty..The second generation of All-Clad's Master Chef line (MC2), this cookware combines brushed aluminum with stainless-steel accents for a contemporary look. Like All-Clad's other renowned cookware collections, Master Chef provides serious and professional cooks with all the virtues that make All-Clad's worldwide reputation unsurpassed. Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. Sandwiched between the exterior and an 18/10 stainless-steel interior is a thick aluminum core that spreads heat evenly across the bottom of the pan and all the way up its sides. The interior is highly polished so it's stick- as well as corrosion-resistant. Handles, rivets, and tight-fitting lids are all gleaming stainless steel.
